The Senior Director of Executive Compensation and Equity is a global leadership role at CRL responsible for the strategic direction and shaping of programs to address our high growth and changing talent needs in a talent-competitive environment. H/She will ensure that we have world-class programs that attract and retain talent and promote a culture of performance-based rewards.

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Total Rewards, h/she will have a team of compensation and benefits professionals in a global environment and will provide leading edge and proven HR strategies and practices. H/she will lead multi-year transformational projects that enact strategic changes, enhance our position in the marketplace, and maintain governance as it applies to Executive Pay and Board related activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  Leads strategic designs that shape executive compensation programs, focused incentive plans, retention plans, and reward and recognition programs that are specifically designed to address executives within what is required for governance Leads leveling and benchmarking activities for executives, VP and above.  Works with Employee Compensation leader to manage and deliver executive annual incentive program (EICP).  Manages global equity awards design, planning and execution, collaborating with business and HR leaders as appropriate.  This includes understanding the Market practices, accounting expense and reporting and tax requirements. Develops, and prepares materials for the compensation committee of the board of directors. In addition, manages the Board of Directors pay plan.  This includes managing process related to compensation committee requests and regular reporting with thoughtful view of governance. Manages the process for preparing the executive compensation sections of the Company’s annual proxy, i.e., the CD&A, Compensation Summary Table, Change in Control and other relevant schedules and tables while working closely with the corporate legal department. Continuous monitoring of compensation, tax, SEC and accounting regulations to stay informed of all current and pending legislation as well as industry trends regarding compensation (409A, 162m, say-on-pay) and how they may affect the Company’s plans. Lead in the development and modeling of new equity plan share requests and their associated calculations (i.e. burn rates, overhang and dilution calculations). Support M&A activities as it relates to acquired executives, including but not limited to assessing and recommending potential changes in executive pay for acquired execs. Researches and provides competitive intelligence and predictive analytics in support of various executive programs. Project management for other areas will be required as needed. Job Qualifications Significant experience in executive pay and equity programs, including US public company expertise, retention tools, change management and communications.  A minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources with primary responsibility for compensation and benefits in a global environment Broad understanding of executive compensation legal requirements, regulatory issues, and global laws.  A track record of providing active consulting and collaborative problem-solving support, and tailoring influence strategies to drive the desired change.  Demonstrated ability to work with key stakeholders to develop value-added, pragmatic rewards solutions tailored to specific business requirements that are aligned with the Company’s mission, values and strategy.  Experience assessing and designing executive pay programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to leverage data and metrics to drive both organization and business solutions.  Strong track record in working with senior leadership to implement management capability development and orchestrate organization change.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, organization development or related Human Resources field. A Master’s degree in Business or Human Resources is a plus.
