IMPORTANT:   In order to be considered for this position, a resume/CV must be uploaded and submitted during the application process.  Please make sure work history and education are added correctly.   Job Summary The R&D Associate Scientist will work closely with the R&D team to develop new processes, conduct research to meet strategic marketing initiatives and further the growth and development of the business.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

•    Evaluate and provide summaries on new processes for cell isolation, enrichment, and analysis.  

•    Research, assist in design of, and execute evaluation studies of new technologies for cell therapy starting material manufacturing.

•    Contribute to assay and process development, run novel cell isolations, assays and experiments, carefully document method and materials, and communicate findings.

•    Research and work as part of the R&D team to develop and implement new equipment to improve upon current processes.

•    Maintain clear detailed lab notebooks with concurrent documentation of all R&D laboratory activities and produce clear reports and summaries of data and conclusion. 

•    Work with the R&D team to design, formalize, execute, analyze, and present experiments to meet strategic marketing objectives for the organization. 

•    Attend R&D meetings and contribute to the scientific growth of the department.

•    Work with the R&D and marketing Teams to revise and improve upon materials related to products.

•    Conduct R&D studies necessary for development of products and tech transfer from RUO to GMP.

•    Participate in research and development necessary for custom client projects. 

•    Report, review and approve error/accident reports, deviations, related root cause. Job Qualifications

•    BS/BA in Life Science, or related field. 

•    Must have 2-5 years’ experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

•    Must have cell processing experience, industry experience preferred.

•    Must have experience with primary human cell culture and functional cell assays.

•    Specific experience with iPSCs derivation, differentiation and culture preferred.

•    Must have experience with multicolor flow cytometry or fluorescent microscopy.

•    Must understand biological and immunological principles and be able to apply these principles to laboratory experiments.

•    Must keep accurate and detailed laboratory records of all laboratory related activities.

•    Must be able to understand, digest and summarize findings from scientific literature.
