Thermo Fisher Genetic Sciences Software Team

We are a team of Software Engineers that specialize in development of genetic sciences applications. Our goal is to give our customers the best tools for analyzing genetic data. We do this by providing high quality software with excellent user experience - and to that end, we are passionate about discovering ways to improve our products and our skills by challenging ourselves, exploring new technologies and continuous learning.

What will you do?

Lead multiple software teams for development and test of genetic science applications and ensure roadmap is implemented.

Collaborate with other software leaders and global infrastructure groups to deliver end to end software solutions.

Effectively manage resource allocations and budget.

Improve team skills, development practices and provide learning opportunities for your team.

Work with software leaders to improve our processes and practices and optimize our global setup.

Collaborate with partners to define product roadmaps and development strategies.

Education

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience

Software development leadership experience, including experience writing and/or testing software applications, leading teams and improving the software development lifecycle.

Extensive software leadership experience, preferably more than 15yrs, of releasing software for desktop and cloud with complex user interfaces. Experience in developing molecular diagnostic applications is desired.

Experience with regulatory standards and requirements for medical devices.

Experience working with international partners and contractors.

Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Software engineering leadership, especially staffing and growing teams.

Software development experience with innovative practices, such as Agile Development.

Knowledge of all relevant aspects of the software development process, requirements, development, test and deployment.

Proficient written and verbal communication in the English language.
