  Job Summary  

As the Advisor, Communications & Engagement, you will play a critical role as a strategic partner to ensure staff feel informed, engaged, involved and valued. Through the development and delivery of a communications and staff engagement strategy, this role will put purpose and engagement at the center of our staff communications. This role will also develop content and implement internal communication strategies and plans that engage, align and inspire employees with Charles River's vision and business strategy and drive employees' understanding of and engagement with Charles River's priorities and key initiatives. In addition, this role will develop and publish content using electronic tools, including Sharepoint, Poppulo, and Digital Signage. 

 

Responsibilities: 

   Work closely with the key stakeholders to develop and implement a communications and employee engagement strategy which supports the delivery of strategic priorities, ensures key messages are communicated consistently and encourages two-way communication and feedback. Develop diverse communication channels, e.g. newsletter, intranet, social media, print, digital signage and email as the appropriate means for communicating with staff depending on the nature and context of different communications. Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and are consistent with external communication messages. Responsible for planning, writing, editing, and publishing content across the range of internal communications channels. Work with site stakeholders and leaders to build their capabilities for effective communications and engagement with staff.  Partner with Human Resources and Corporate Communications and establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through networking and membership of relevant committees and working groups. Plan and execute engagement events and activities. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  Job Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in communications, journalism, web technologies, marketing or related discipline. 2 - 5 years related experience in communications with a focus on internal audiences and content and digital channel development. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Excellent writing and marketing skills required.  Proficiency in creating word-processed documents, spreadsheets and presentations required. SharePoint, PowerPoint and other digital platform skills preferred.  Previous experience within a life science environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, laboratory) preferred.  Event Planning and project management experience required. Bilingual: French & English
