Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Health Data Partnerships & Acquisitions has primary responsibility for managing a team to develop and leverage/manage strategic data partnerships, data acquisition, data asset optimization, data acquisition efficiencies, and innovative solutions to drive business value, speed, and business impact.  Moreover, this person will support building capabilities and best practices in data acquisition and data partner management and will support best practices across the enterprise.  This crucial role is the primary interface for day to day interactions of data partnership operations,  strategy and transformation initiatives, and internal customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help support onboarding of data partners/assets and cultivating new strategic relationships with emerging external data partners

  • Contribute to executing against Symphony’s Roadmap to serve the overarching business strategy and objectives

  • Support building the Data Acquisition Strategy spearheading research & investigation for capturing demand and needs from the strategic business units

  • Identify the data required to meet these needs for input into business cases

  • Help Implement Strategy & Drive Customer Satisfaction

  • Support strategy implementation and research

  • Responsible for both Traditional and Non-Traditional Data Acquisition ensuring that both are owned, stewarded and have critical insights captured

  • Support the Data Excellence organization with existing or purposely acquired data which can be used to improve decision making and intelligent action by consumers, the enterprise or other organizations

  • Help manage and optimize the respective relationships/contracts with our current and emerging vendors, including third party agreements, data sharing and contracts

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience in Strategic Contract/Account/Vendor Management/ Metadata Management

  • Deep experience in risk and legal reviews of vendor contracts and licensing agreements related to external data

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team to achieve results

  • Experience in maintaining and managing various types of patient healthcare data assets

  • Experience in sales and partnering processes and activities, including contract negotiations

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other internal teams towards a common goal

  • Executive level communication skills

  • Ability to travel nationally 15%-25%

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, research-based social science, statistics, pharmacology, or quantitative methods required; MBA or similar preferred
