Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Management (TM) with a matrix reporting line to the Vice President, Human Resources (VP-HR) for Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ), this role is responsible for designing, leading and implementing talent strategies and programs that develop, retain and actively accelerate our organization's talent within a high-growth region. The successful candidate will lead a multi-cultural team of regional TM managers, working closely with senior leadership across the organisation to create and implement plans to build an enduring, deep and diverse pipeline of future leaders.

Collaboration, influencing skills and ability to translate strategic plans into action will be critical for success in this highly matrixed environment, working closely with the APJ HR Leadership team and the Global Talent Management leadership team.

What will you do?

The successful candidate will:
  • Partner with the Global Talent team, HR and Business leaders to create and implement integrated talent management strategies, tools, and processes to drive a culture of career growth, talent mobility, performance accountability and leadership development.
  • Lead strong succession planning and long-term projections of leader vacancy needs, developing creative and effective approaches to bridging gaps in the short term and long term.
  • Provide expertise in areas of leadership and team development, organizational design and culture in partnership with HR & Business leaders that enable achievement of business's goals; leading this through a team of experienced TM partners supporting multiple countries.
  • Lead talent management processes such as annual succession planning reviews and performance reviews to ensure effective identification of high potential talent and overall pipeline of talent.
  • Critical role management – agreeing key roles, monitoring incumbents, developing successors.
  • Use insights from the process to implement impactful solutions to trending development needs and succession gaps, including development of high potential talent.
  • Represent regional needs to the Global Talent Development team and identify, create and implement complementary regional solutions where required.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Leverage data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of talent management programs and initiatives. Regularly report on key talent metrics, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Drive activities associated with the Performance Management cycle including goal setting, mid-year reviews, calibration, development planning, year-end reviews.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition teams to prioritize critical open roles and active movement of high potential internal talent into open roles.

How will you get here?

The successful candidate will have:
  • Undergraduate degree required (Business, Psychology, HR) / Master or MBA desirable.
  • 12-15 years of Talent Management experience, with track record in strategy building and execution of talent plans across a large complex organization with multiple, ambiguous and sometimes conflicting business priorities
  • Proven track record to collaborate, flex, establish relationships and influence at all levels and types of organization including commercial, manufacturing, operations and functions leaders.
  • Experience leading high calibre teams in a highly matrixed environment
  • Track record in initiating and delivering complex change initiatives and building organisational capability across several Asian countries.
  • Strong business insight with the ability to link talent priorities to key business initiatives and ensure learning and development and mobility spend is targeted towards initiatives with the highest return on investment for APJ.
  • Must have deep experience and knowledge of the business, economic, culture and talent environment in multiple countries across Asia.
  • Exemplary ethics and ability to drive and maintain a high -morale environment.
  • Experience facilitating senior leadership team meetings and effectiveness in designing, developing and deploying leadership, management and professional development solutions to accelerate the Talent strategy.
