A Day in the Life:

The inventory position will require the employee to perform daily work functions while assisting the supervisor and employees in meeting the departmental productivity, quality, service and financial goals.

  • Maintain inventory integrity.
  • Manage inventory to meet facility requirements for error rates, can’t finds, RC90, inventory accuracy, etc.
  • Ensure smooth flow of orders from Logistics Support to warehouse.
  • Oversee Logistics Support group to ensure accurate order scheduling, positive customer relations and internal & external system functionality.
  • Ensure uninterrupted administrative support.
  • Manage inventory Group to ensure proper communication both internally and externally. Customer reports, productivity reports, quality reports, etc.
  • Provide direction and assistance with the daily operation of the department to meet all daily objectives.
  • Assist employees with exceptions and problem resolution to ensure high level of accuracy in department.
  • Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet goals.
  • Organize and direct workflow for the department when supervisor is unavailable.
  • Provide instructions about standard operating procedures, material handling equipment and help in resolving problems. 
  • Train and assess temporary employees and new hires.
  • Assist the supervisor in maintaining a safe, injury-free work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills, and/or ability. To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to complete each essential duty in a satisfactory manner and work in a team environment.  Must be proficient in all aspects of distribution and departmental standard operating procedures.

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Worker must be able to read and write in English.
  • General warehouse experience required.
  • Worker should have or be willing to obtain forklift certification and prior experience operating a powered industrial truck.
  • Preferred experience in computers and scanning equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess problem solving abilities.
  • On-the-job training is provided by the employer.
  • Role model leader adhering to the Thermo Fisher values (4 I’s).
  • Lifts, carries, pulls and pushes up to 40 - 70 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, standing, bending and reaching required.
  • Must be willing to work weekday and weekend overtime as required

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $16.86–$25.29.
