Discover Impactful Work:

The Recruitment Director will oversee the recruitment of study participants for a wide range of research studies, including clinical outcomes assessment, patient preferences, patient engagement and insight, implementation science and patient utility. Participants may be patients, caregivers, or health care professionals covering all relevant therapy areas.

A day in the Life:

The Recruitment Director will oversee the design and implementation of participant recruitment strategies to support patient experience studies. This will include:

  • Ensuring the team has access to best-in-class recruitment and IRB capabilities, whether internal to the team, via the capabilities available within PPD such as our site networks, or via maintaining relevant vendor partnerships; and
  • Operationalizing delivery of these capabilities, including developing and leading a team of recruitment specialists who can design and implement strategies, designing and maintaining processes and infrastructure to ensure efficient delivery recruitment strategies in collaboration with study teams.
  • Develop and lead a team to design and implement study recruitment and ethics strategies, including: partnering with teams to understand recruitment needs, developing and implementing optimal recruitment strategies for proposals and study protocols.
  • Proactive management of relationships with stakeholders and external vendors, including; reviewing of budgets to find efficiencies, conducting regular oversight meetings, knowledge management, escalation activities, collaboration with the Vendor Management Organization (VMO) on vendor events and vendor qualification.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing recruitment capabilities to improve study win rates and the efficiency of study delivery.
  • Plan and implement insourcing of additional recruitment capabilities where appropriate.
  • Develop strategic plans as part of the annual operating plan.
  • · Develop and operationalize KPIs to measure team performance and plan delivery.

Keys to Success:

Education
  • BA or BS required; preferably in business, a life science or related field

Experience
  • Demonstrated experience of 8+ years of site and/or patient-based recruitment activities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful experience managing site and/or patient-based recruitment activities, including team leadership, dealing with internal and external clients, managing vendors, and working with patient organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Well-developed professional judgment and analytical skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build, grow and maintain internal and external relationships as a credible reliable partner.
  • Knowledge of IRB and ethics requirements for patient recruitment.
  • Ability to influence decision-making, negotiate positive outcomes for the company and clients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – in-person, in writing and via telephone.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Clear understanding of scientific consulting processes and deliverables.
  • Superior project and time management skills.
  • Familiarity and existing relationships with a variety of market research recruitment sources.
  • Creative, analytical, and results oriented, with a superior ability to engage, collaborate, and communicate across teams.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
