IMPORTANT:   In order to be considered for this position, a resume/CV must be uploaded and submitted during the application process.  Please make sure work history and education are added correctly.   Job Summary The Bioseparations Scientist and Technical Trainer is responsible for supporting laboratory management with the maintenance and profitability of the cell isolation laboratory. They will work closely with management to develop, execute, and modify (as appropriate) staff training and laboratory documentation, as well as to ensure compliance.  The role will be responsible for guiding successful routine production and QC tasks including analytical testing, review of production records, and creation of certificates of analysis (COA).

 

Essential Responsibilities:

•    Takes the lead on technical decisions in the lab day to day.

•    Trains and ensures staff complies with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality systems.

•    Subject matter expert with operating basic lab equipment (i.e., centrifuge, microscope, hemocytometer, incubator).

•    Directly oversees performance of processing of blood and bone marrow products using manual processes and automated equipment by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) and other regulatory agency procedures.  

•    Identifies and troubleshoots problems encountered in assigned tasks of junior staff and properly documents corrective actions; notifies management of non-compliance issues.

•    Designs, formalizes, and executes supporting experiments to meet strategic marketing objectives for the organization.

•    Evaluates and provides technical guidance on new processes for cell isolation, enrichment, and analysis.

•    Generates and/or reviews production batch records, product QC, and CoAs.

•    Authors and reviews detailed protocols and instructions.

•    Provides solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and consistent with objectives.

•    Performs some small-scale R&D and protocol development for new product lines.

•    Contributes to error/accident reports, related root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, and follow-ups, as applicable.   Job Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences or related field/discipline required.

•    Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

•    Must have cell processing experience in industry, specifically in cGMP or GLP environments.

•    Ability to use inventory management software.

•    Ability to operate controlled rate freezer.

•    Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
