Job Summary

The Business Optimization Specialist is responsible for developing, initiating and assuming leadership of selected business improvement projects that support operational excellence, growth, and other key strategic initiatives at the NHPQ sites. The Business Optimization Lead will lead site teams in the transformation of their organization(s) by leveraging lean methodologies to drive process improvement and developing solutions that support business objectives.

This is a remote postion; occasional domestic travel will be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive effective timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs
  • Lead individual site process improvement teams to solve key business issues and implement targeted solutions using problem-solving methodologies
  • Develop and execute project plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing project needs, resources, and requirements
  • Perform process analysis on a wide variety of projects
  • Ability to develop effective solutions and dashboards using Microsoft office products (e.g. Excel, Power BI) and Smartsheet, or other software, as appropriate to improve efficiency
  • Proactively evaluates new tools for project management and process improvement and shares with key stakeholders
  • Perform stakeholder analysis and manage acceptance ofproject implementation
  • Maintain projects on-time and manage expectations and risk
  • Ensure staff understand how they will be affected by the change to drive adoption of new programs
  • Influence the organization by promoting the use of process improvement methodology and mindset
  • Influence and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Mentor peers and middle management in the formulation and execution of process improvement projects. Teach local personnel to apply process improvement methodologies and tools as necessary and appropriate. Drives culture of process improvement throughout sphere of influence
  • Network with experts at other sites to establish and share best practices and templates for the benefit of the company.  Serve as a change agent, build, and motivate teams and foster positive relationships with team members
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring to drive projects to completion, when required
  • Manages team project dashboard and supports project leaders’ adherence to key milestones and deadlines.  Reports progress on regular basis to senior leadership team
  • May act as meeting facilitator and use facilitating tools
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Specific experience in process improvement or change management required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in DMAIC and Lean methodologies preferred.  Project Management certification preferred.
  • Leadership skills and ability to deliver results
  • Ability to innovate and effectively lead/communicate at all levels 
  • Computer literate and proficient with basic Windows applications
  • Comfortable with mathematical and financial concepts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
