PPD’s Language Services organization has a role for a manager to lead our growing team of DTPs. This role will be overseeing and managing the operations and resources of a global team.

This role is for a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, who resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This position focuses on optimizing performance, processes, behaviors, and decision making in order to achieve departmental business goals and objectives.

The Localization Desktop Publishing Manager will:

  • Manage a team of Localization Desktop Publishers
  • Manage and implement multilingual DTP strategy
  • Manage external DTP vendor relationships
  • Create efficiencies in DTP workflows
  • Provide technical troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain best practices for multilingual desktop publishing team
  • Coach and onboard current and new team members
  • Work in a fast-pace global environment with constant competing priorities and process improvements.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or If no Bachelor's degree then, 5+ years of relevant experience. Proven people management experience
  • Extensive experience in managing a global localization DTP team preferably in a language service provider setting
  • Documented trouble-shooting experience
  • Extensive experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Expert skills of multilingual MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, FrameMaker and other common software applications
  • Expert skills of CAT Editor and TMS systems
  • Expert skills of OCR management tools
  • Expert skills of managing track change multilingual projects and able to drive automation and efficiencies
  • Expert skills of DTP QA and how to use automation tools
  • Documented experience of process improvements
  • Localization engineering skills preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand importance of turnaround times and quality expectations.
