In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking an Lead Animal Care Technician for ourInsourcing Solutions Departmentlocated in Boston, MA.

Provide oversight and support to the animal care program and the animal care technicians under the direction of the on-site facility manager. Cares for the animals used in research and development studies. Performs duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals such as feeding and caring for animals, cleaning cages, holding animals for treatment by laboratory technician or maintaining inventory, animal breeding and animal identification records. Performs cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment. Responsible for bio-safety and bio-security of the animals. May partner with pre-clinical investigators to assist and support veterinarians with surgery, dosing, post-op care and monitoring of animal studies. Understand of and regularly utilize available information resources and systems ((e.g., SOPs, policies, computer applications).

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Lead Animal Care Technician position: Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences field preferred. Experience: Three or more year’s related animal care and handling experience required in combination with facility and equipment knowledge. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure: LAT level or above preferred Other: Ability to effectively follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and that contribute to a congenial work environment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, research staff, and managers. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
