The Technical Director acts as the subject matter expert and scientific leader in the design, development and validation of histopathology-based tests in a regulated clinical environment. The position works collaboratively with various stakeholders and other functional leaders to ensure successful development, validation and technology transfer of assays to the CLIA laboratory.

Responsibilities: Provide technical and scientific oversight of the histology development laboratory and assigned personnelWork with Scientific Affairs, Business Development and Sales personnel as needed to support and secure new business to help meet corporate objectivesWork with Scientific Affairs and Business Development to build relationships with strategic partners related to tissue diagnostics platformsProvide technical expertise in product development that is creative, innovative and rigorous in designProvide technical solutions that address clients' histopathology-based assay needs and requirementsProvide cost and timelines for test development, validation and transfer to CLIA labManage development projects, validation studies and associated reportingCreate, implement and improve Standard Operating ProceduresEffectively troubleshoot workflows, instrumentation and associated processesAnalyze and provide recommendations to the Pathologist/Laboratory Director in interpreting unusual or challenging resultsAct as an architect for laboratory systems from specimen to reportProvide appropriate specifications and requirements for data analysis and interpretationPresent and discuss technical capabilities, data, and reports to internal and external stakeholders and clientsProvide technical and scientific oversight of the histology development laboratory and assigned personnel

RequirementsDoctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology or similar field preferredMore than 10 years of experience related to oncology biomarker research and histopathology assay development and/or diagnostic assay developmentMore than 10 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical research environment
