IQVIA’s UK-based Primary Intelligence team works closely with other teams within its Technology and Services division. While the team is based in the UK, the large majority of engagements spans multiple geographies, within and outside Europe. This team leads the design and execution of consulting projects which leverage primary market research to support our clients’ commercial decision making and strategies across a broad range of therapeutic areas and geographical markets. These include ad-hoc and syndicated projects which can be standalone primary market research (PMR) projects or broader consulting engagements with PMR components.

The team builds on proprietary methodologies and gold standard market research techniques to conduct mainly quantitative but also qualitative market research and analysis, generating insights and recommendations which address a broad spectrum of commercial questions across the product life-cycle. Most fieldwork is managed and carried out by an in-house team, leveraging IQVIA proprietory HCPs database

Role Summary

As an Engagement Manager within the UK Primary Intelligence team, you will take on a variety of roles focusing primarily within the following core areas:

  • Business development and client relationship with existing and potential clients

Engage with IQVIA existing and potential new clients to translate client needs into operable market research and consultancy solutions

  • Project leadership

Provide overall steer to the project team, and act as the “face of the project” for the client

  • Operational leadership

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

  • Offering development and innovation

Drive improvements to current PI methodologies and market research approaches

Key Accountabilities:

  • Crucial to the role is the ability to drive revenue, project profitability, client satisfaction and utilisation targets
  • Personally lead business development activities working closely with Key Account Managers, and collaborating with colleagues in other functions of IQVIA, to define and deliver the most relevant solution to address client’s needs. You must be able to articulate solutions into actionable and timely proposals
  • Provide input and overall guidance to the project teams, ensuring appropriate use of the methodology and quality controlling any interim and final deliverables, to ensure that project and client objectives are reached
  • Take line management responsibility for 2-4 individuals within the team, with responsibilities including: robust assessment of individuals’ performance and skills, working with individuals to identify short-, medium- and long-term career goals to work towards, provide coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues
  • Help innovate the offerings and processes by providing input on methodologies, process set-up and ensuring that progress is made in a timely fashion
  • Raise the general profile of IQVIA in the Primary Intelligence space by attending industry conferences and events, submitting articles to industry publications, and attending in-person and virtual client events

Skills and experience required

  • Significant previous healthcare specific primary market research experience, with main focus on quantitative methodologies and ideally some experience in qualitative research
  • Able to build and maintain strong client relationship
  • Has demonstrated ability to drive new business in market research
  • Has a proven track record of driving innovation and improvements, both in terms of process and offerings/ research techniques
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills for influencing and advising
  • You will need to be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) to a strong business standard
