Therapeutic Strategy Director, Internal Medicine (Europe - Home-Based) - IQVIA Biotech

IQVIA Biotech is now hiring for a Therapeutic Strategy Director for our Internal Medicine group. IQVIA Biotech is a unique division specialising in working with smaller biotech and emerging biopharma clients and as such we have a vibrant, fast-paced working environment. This home-based position requires a strong strategic mindset as well as operational experience. Candidates must have a CRO background as well as experience in many different Therapeutic Areas.

  • Collaborates with Vice President, General to develop a sales strategy with emerging biopharma companies to enable the General Medicine Division (GMD) to achieve its near and long-term authorization, revenue and profitability goals

  • Supports Novella’s global sales and proposals teams and processes with training, messaging, content development, and strategic planning towards achievement of above

  • Guides efforts dedicated to GMD throughout the sales cycle, with particular focus on initial positioning with potential clients and strategic participation throughout the proposal and bid defense process; Ultimate goal is optimization of Novella’s ability to capture new business (maximizing new business hit rate) and alignment with internal capabilities to assure quality delivery and repeat business

  • Supports Novella’s global sales teams by developing relationships with potential clients during the pre-proposal and proposal process. In addition provides support to the  Novella’s global sales teams and GMD by attending annual internal medicine conferences to continue to develop a foster client relationships

  • Develops strong working relationships with key members of the Novella operational management team, especially leadership within the GMD, to ensure Sales and Operational goals are aligned 

  • Suggests operational process improvements to the leaders of the GMD and appropriate functions to align with the needs of potential clients, particularly around ways to differentiate the GMD so as to improve GM sales effectiveness and operational delivery

  • Works with Proposals & Contracts (P&C) and Operational leadership to develop budgeting standards for GM-specific situational bids; aligns with GM vertical specialization and works with functional leads to suggest bidding algorithms accordingly

  • Development and review of the budget (labor and pass-through costs) associated with the proposed project strategy. The budget should be competitive and in line with the contribution margin targets and pricing strategy agreed with Sales, leadership, and other stakeholders

  • Define and communicate the project team profile and organizational structure that will enable operational managers to identify and assign team members that can meet the customer’s needs and successfully secure the project award

  • Guide and mentor assigned Project Leader through a comprehensive handover of the project strategy and facilitate their understanding so that they can confidently present the project strategy to the client and the internal stakeholders

  • Coordinates with the VPGM and Director of Marketing to customize a Novella marketing plan that augments business development efforts Actively involved with industry events to gather intelligence and enhance the public perception and market penetration of the GMD; provides training on industry intelligence back to internal teams

  • Supports growth and organization development strategies, including 3rd party partnerships, both organic and inorganic, in conjunction with the Executive Management/GMD leadership teams

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience across multiple therapeutic area in either the academic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or clinical research industries

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical trial implementation, therefore having the ability to analyze a protocol and develop strategic pricing and operational solutions; This individual must have strong oncology therapeutic experience with demonstrated exposure to a customer service setting.  Global experience preferred

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree (MS, MD, PhD) in relevant healthcare related field preferred 

  • Recent experience in operational and/or business development roles at a biotechnology company or CRO with a specific focus towards many different Therapeutic Areas   

  • Fluency with Excel and PowerPoint manipulation to facilitate budget analysis and presentations

  • Comfort with proposal development and market differentiation/branding
