Strategic Accounts Director

This individual will manage activities to ensure the unrestricted flow of quality, confidential, cost effective data and information services between data sources and IQVIA.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Participates in and/or manages multi-year, multi-million dollar contract negotiations of national accounts implementation, coordination and follow through of all contracts and information services agreements. Accounts will include but not limited to companies providing EMR, EHR, Remittance, Medical and Hospital claims data.
  • Develops proposals to secure business opportunities. Oversees provision of information services in barter revenue. Nurtures relationships with key executives within the national accounts and cultivates new relationships with data suppliers.
  • Develops and executes successful strategic plan to address major competitive threats. Provides competitive information to sales and marketing management.  Works with Sales, Marketing and Finance Management to develop strategies and tactics to achieve optimal cost containment and ensure support of core databases.
  • Originates new concepts, strategies and innovative approaches to impact IMS’ relationships with senior executives at key data suppliers. Influences internal organizations to develop applications, support and service new customer segment.  Identifies new product opportunities that could be jointly developed/marketed, as well as provides tailored information services that guide our partners toward optimizing their market performance.
  • Develops and/or influences development of value added information/programs IMS can offer as a source of revenue and/or a way to minimize increases in acquisition cost in future contracts.

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of nine (10) years previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • An understanding of pharmacy retailer or pharmacy software vendors’ business. Understanding of supplier strategies and issues.
