Database Administrator

<h2>Job Overview:</h2><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">The Database Administrator is responsible for installing, monitoring, maintaining and upgrading software and hardware.  This person will support global operations for work order fulfillment across multiple business units and provides technical expertise, project management skill and system life cycle documentation.  The fulfillment center processes work orders to support global clinical trials and requires candidates with the proper experience in database management.</span></p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"> </p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Managing the fulfillment center’s Oracle database is a key function of the job.  Another aspect is to identify and report software bugs in the fulfillment system. When bugs are identified, software development is needed to correct the issue and in turn requires software updates to be tested and deployed.</span></p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"> </p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p><ul><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Manage Oracle database</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Research and Reporting within the Oracle database</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Process software updates and deployments of new products</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Troubleshooting software issues, reporting issues to software vendors</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Maintaining software and services that support work order fulfillment</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Triage complex issues and work to find solutions</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">On-call support for the work order fulfillment center(s)</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Troubleshooting software and hardware issues</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Maintaining software and services that support work order fulfillment</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Triage complex problems and work to find solutions</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Research and Reporting</span></li></ul><h2>Education/Qualifications:</h2><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva; color: #333333;">- BS/BA degree or an Associate's Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience</span></p><h2>Experience:</h2><ul><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Database experience. Oracle database experience is preferred but open to SQL experience and will train on Oracle.</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">PL/SQL experience</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Troubleshooting experience</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Documentation experience</span></li></ul>
