Job Summary

Our clinical operations activities are growing rapidly, and Medpace currently has multiple full-time leadership openings within our Clinical Operationsteam ranging from Site Payments Manager I through Associate Director, Site Payments.

This is a position with tremendous visibility within the company that plays a critical role in the financial, operational, and customer service success of our clinical trials. Responsibilities range from managing the accuracy and completeness of Medpace’s Investigator Grant (IG) accounts payable process to maintaining comprehensive IG budget and cost forecasting for the duration of one’s portfolio of clinical trials.

We are looking for detail-oriented, self-motivated individuals who are seeking a leadership role within a fast-growing, fast-paced work environment that also provides the opportunity to develop junior staff and drive system and process improvement initiatives. No travel is required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to prepare and maintain IG budgets and forecasts at the study, country, and clinical site level
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal/external IG requests and issue escalation
  • Manage the daily Site Payments operations/resources to ensure the accurate and timely:
    • Entry, calculation, and payment of IG costs;
    • Delivery of Sponsor IG invoices, accruals, and reports; and
    • Achievement of departmental KPIs
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Clinical Trial Management, Contracts, and Finance Teams to provide timely and thorough responses for Site Payment deliverables
  • Work with the IG Revenue Recognition team to provide needed IG budget and cost forecasts for financial reporting purposes
  • Provide oversight, coaching, and professional development opportunities for assigned staff
  • Own/participate in the execution of departmental strategic initiatives and process improvement efforts in order to build streamlined, scalable, well-controlled target-state systems, processes, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of strong finance, accounting, or operational management experience at a CRO (required).
  • Must have strong, demonstrated experience with the following:
    • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and coach junior staff;
    • Ability to use critical thinking to solve complex challenges and make effective decisions;
    • Clearly present complicated topics to diverse audiences in both oral and written form;
    • Ability to manage conflicts and resolve noted challenges/concerns;
    • Ability to make decisions based on limited information and prior experience;
    • Ability to track/manage multiple competing deliverables/deadlines;
    • Consistent focus on details and extra effort/hustle;
    • Excellent customer service;
    • Process improvement;
    • Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask while efficiently and independently completing high quality work; and
    • Excellent computer skills, with an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
