The Antibody & Flow Cytometry (AFS) segment serves customers using a wide array of immunodetection methods globally. Customers operate in biotech, academia, and pharmaceutical research labs and use our technologies for mechanism of action studies, pathway analysis, and analyte identification.

Our primary location for this business is Rockford, IL.

As a Product Manager in AFS you ‘own’ the product. You are responsible for the product line strategy, ensuring balanced and profitable growth. You will understand customers, the competitive landscape and analyze and provide actionable insights – then be able to implement and deliver this working with colleagues across a matrixed organization.

The position requires significant thought leadership, strategic marketing skills, and the ability to influence across a wide variety of functions / roles. The individual in this position should be viewed as a skilled operation professional with solid understanding of the market, customer, competition, and service offerings.

Customer Centric:

  • Be an authority on our customers. Proactively listen, understand, and develop actionable insights into how we can develop products that contribute to customers success
  • Articulate these insights in a concise and compelling way so that internal collaborators ‘get’ the customer and their desired outcomes and translate these into growth initiatives
  • Define market requirements and synthesize customer input by conducting VOC and market research to understand key market trends, use cases, customer requirements, etc.

Product roadmap:

  • Own the product roadmap, illustrate a vision and prioritize requirements for sustaining connections and establishing new strategic partnerships
  • Lead the innovation process for the OEM and distribution antibody business, assess opportunities, validate concepts for new product offerings
  • Review our current product offerings, how well the product is performing in the market, understand how it impacts the company operations and how it ultimately contributes to profit
  • Independently establishes and leads critical initiatives that drive commercial success and support the overall business strategy

Execution:

  • Define the strategies and provide direction for the programs that will generate awareness and fill gaps in the primary antibody portfolio.
  • Serve as a product level administrator in implementing comprehensive business priorities for the OEM and distribution portfolio in collaboration with marketing
  • Be responsible for the execution of initiatives to drive profitability
  • Own the pricing model, ensure that we are extracting the maximum value, considering different regional and competitive insights
  • Support global product marketing readiness initiatives as required

Collaboration:

  • Interacts with varying levels of internal and external collaborators including direct client communication and presentation to leadership
  • Assist supply planning, procurement, technical support, program management, and commercial teams with a range of business operation asks
  • Maintain a positive and collaborative professional relationship with stakeholders, peers and team members
  • Exhibits excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills, able to inspire through persuasive presentation of information
  • Work closely with the applications team to develop use scenarios and technical specifications for new web functionality

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Customer-focused, with strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, able to talk to the market and present informative analysis
  • Demonstrate Product Management fundamentals, 4Ps, segmentation and positioning, value propositions, persona development, claims matrix mapping, etc
  • Financial acuity (forecasting, market share, top and bottom line)

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s, PhD level or Business education is advantageous.
  • 5+ years experience within Product Management and/or Product Marketing
  • Product line/market knowledge of immunodetection is beneficial
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally, as required
  • Proficient in English

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $103,100.00–$140,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
