We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for our regional team in Bulgaria/Greece/Turkey.

 The position is a full-time one, based in our office in Sofia.

Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting 

• Primary point of contact for bookkeeping and financial documents
• Independent bookkeeping, controlling of payment and other documents
• Review and control of financial entries, documents and reports
• Primary responsibility for preparing the annual budget reports
• Assuring compliance with local legislation and taxation as well as with group reporting
• Sole responsibility for accounting and preparation annual reports and closings
• Shared responsibility for payroll calculation
• Coordination of monthly closing process and reconciliation
• Preparation of monthly reports and financial statements in accordance with the regulations and internal and external requirements
• Managing month-end and quarter-end close process and consolidated accounting activities in accordance with the local GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
• Assistance in auditing activities
• Managing payment transactions
• Responsibility for the proper management of all accounting records in accordance with accounting and internal regulations
• Participation in the development and maintenance of country/region specific procedures and policies regarding the update of the chart of accounts, the inventory settlement regulations and other procedures necessary for the proper functioning of the company

Reporting

• Prepare and review financial reports for the Group's headquarters and the offices in the region
• Prepare and complete financial reports for local authorities, including tax returns
• Prepare and participate in the improvement of financial analysis and statistics

Communication

• Primary contact person for any financial matters for PSI internally, for customers, vendors, external bookkeeping company, auditors and Finance team in HQ
• Primary contact with all relevant institutions: banks, Tax Authorities, etc.

Data Management & Administration

• Maintenance of the inventory tracking database
• Collaboration in Internal Control System implementation
• Participating in F&A projects when required

Qualifications

• University Degree in Finance and Accounting
• Very good knowledge of Accounting Principles (local gap) and other tax and legal regulations in the country
• Ability to work independently (Financial Closing, Financial and Tax filings)
•  5 years hands-on accounting experience in an international environment
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry within an international environment is a plus
• Good knowledge of SAP
• Full working proficiency in Bulgarian and English
• Proficient in MS office applications
• Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan, multitask and work in a dynamic team environment
• Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
