We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a QC Scientist to join our quality team based in Middletown, VA.

Working with the Quality Control Section Head, the scientist will participate in the testing, problem solving and maintenance of laboratory activities. The scientist will also lead lab projects centered on value assignment, process improvement, and instrument validations.

What will you do?

  • Perform tasks in accordance with the ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems and Quality Policies
  • Support lab testing and data review on an as needed basis.
  • Act as SAP administrator to support inspection plan updates.
  • Coordinate, implement, and mange changes relevant to QC laboratory testing
  • Gain broad understanding of laboratory instrumentation and offer technical expertise in testing and problem solving efforts.
  • Engage and establish relationships with customers to support product testing.
  • To support and actively participate in the PPI (Continuous improvement) program, (including Kaizens) within the Company.

Who are we looking for:

  • A degree in biological sciences degree is preferable.
  • Previous experience working within a similar environment, food testing, water, medical devices or pharma is preferable.
  • Practical laboratory experience within a lab would be extremely beneficial but not required.
  • Able to work independently as well as work within a diverse team
  • Able to perform routine duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize, and work on a variety of assignments at one time.
  • Able to recognize deviation from requirements and standard practice and understanding associated risks is essential to this role.
