Job Description

As a Sr. Application Specialist - you will provide overall sales support and applications analysis for the Thermo Fisher M&M Minerals product line. Evaluate and qualify Minerals applications to broaden the scope of M&M capabilities and knowledge base. Supports customer-facing marketing activities to include customer presentations, product demonstrations, channel partner and regional sales training, and vital support of key account penetration. Preparation of sales collateral including application notes, customer testimonials, and white papers on current and emerging topics in the industry. A crucial member of the marketing leadership team, together we will enable our customers to accelerate production, improve product quality, make process decisions faster, and protect their brands!

Key Responsibilities: (Bullets)

  • Provide technical applications and sales support for product lines.
  • Generate application reports for customers, direct sales and representatives.
  • Provide sales support to inside sales, regional managers, independent sales representatives and customers
  • Analyze potential applications feasibility and performance by product testing.
  • Generate collateral including customer presentations, application notes, and white papers on selected Minerals topics
  • Prepare and deliver customer and sales training presentations as required on application/product topics
  • Identify likely areas of emerging applications and propose applications solutions to product management
  • Work with R&D and the Product Managers on new product requirements and early system/performance testing

Requirements for the role
  • A four year technical degree ideally in chemistry, physics or engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven track record to work with diverse levels of customers and internal employees.
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with customers, peers, and commercial management
  • Self motivated with a high bias for action.
  • Up to 25% travel including international travel if required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $113,500.00–$170,200.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
