包含基準:
- 6か月を超える前立腺肥大症（BPH）の病歴があり、スクリーニングに参加している。
- スクリーニング時に国際前立腺症状スコア (IPSS) が 13 以上である。
- スクリーニング時の経直腸的超音波検査による前立腺の総体積が 30 ミリリットル (mL) 以上であること。
- 4 ミリリットル/秒 (mL/秒) 以上 15 ミリリットル/秒 (mL/秒) 以下のピーク尿流量 (Qmax) によって定義される膀胱出口閉塞の兆候を示す (排尿前の総膀胱容積から [超音波で評価])スクリーニング時の排尿量は 150 ml 以上 550 ml 以下、最小排尿量は 125 ml）。
- スクリーニング時に前立腺特異抗原（PSA）が1.4以上10ナノグラム/ミリリットル（ng/mL）以下である。
- スクリーニング時に超音波により排尿後の残留物が 300 mL 以下であることを実証します。
指定された期間内に次の治療を受けていない：
- スクリーニング前にフィナステリドまたはデュタステリドを少なくとも6か月間服用。
- スクリーニング前の少なくとも4週間のα-アドレナリン拮抗薬。
- スクリーニング前の少なくとも4週間の他の非実験的BPH療法（ハーブ製剤を含む）。

以下のような活動性の心血管疾患がある。
- -スクリーニング後6か月以内に最近心筋梗塞、不安定狭心症、脳卒中、または一過性虚血発作を起こした。
- スクリーニングから6か月以内に、冠動脈バイパス手術、経皮的冠動脈インターベンション、またはステント留置を含む最近の冠動脈インターベンション。
- スクリーニング後 6 か月以内に効果的な介入を示す書面による文書が存在せず、ストレス検査で陽性反応を示した最近の病歴。
- スクリーニング後 6 か月以内にニューヨーク心臓協会 (NYHA) のクラス III 機能分類以上に分類された心臓病の証拠。
- 前立腺がん、乳がん、またはその他の臨床的に重大な腫瘍性疾患（皮膚の扁平上皮がんまたは基底細胞がんを除く）の既知またはその疑いのある病歴がある。
