この研究の目的は、筋肉内電気刺激によるトリガーポイントドライニードリングが、トリガーポイントドライニードリング単独よりも、亜急性および慢性腰痛 (LBP) を持つ個人の痛みと障害の軽減に効果的かどうかを評価することです。
調査員は、ウィリアム・ボーモント陸軍医療センターおよび関連するすべての診療所から30人の現役軍人または受益者を募集する被験者内無作為クロスオーバー研究を使用しています.
研究者は、LBP患者は、トリガーポイントドライニードリングのみを受けた場合よりも、筋肉内電気刺激によるトリガーポイントドライニードリングを受けた場合に、痛みと障害の大幅な改善を示すと仮定しています.

- 現在、4 週間以上の腰痛を経験している (腰痛は、放射線の有無にかかわらず、T12 椎骨より下の痛みとして定義される) 軍または国防総省の受益者 (任意の支店; 18-65 歳)
除外基準:
- 構造的変形(強直性脊椎炎、脊柱側弯症)
- 被験者がローバックエクササイズを行うのを妨げる可能性のある他の整形外科的状態を持っている
- 腫瘍
- 脊椎感染症または局所感染症
- 妊娠 - すべての女性被験者は、血清または尿の妊娠検査を受けます。
- 脊髄圧迫または馬尾症候群
