Project Analyst

As the Project Analyst you will be working in the Project Management Organization, you will cover a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of project objectives. You will be ensuring project governance is followed and that projects are setup in respective systems. You will provide reporting service at portfolio or project levels; collating resource & financial data and generating reports to multiple audiences through aggregated views. It is important that you will be supporting Project Managers in the use of related software tools, providing training and coaching in their use. You will also be expected to support and & facilitate relevant executive governance boards.

Key Accountabilities:

Portfolio, programme and project support

- Uses recommended portfolio, program and project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking.

- Sets up project files, compiles and distributes reports.

- Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.

- Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.

Analytics

- Undertakes analytical activities and delivers analysis outputs, in accordance with customer needs and conforming to agreed standards.

Methods and tools

- Provides advice and guidance to support adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. - Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools.

- Reviews and improves usage and application

Consultancy

- Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.

- Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements.

- Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.QualificationsEducation:

- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C including English, Mathematics (or equivalent)

- A degree in a relevant business discipline is desirable but not essential

Skills:

- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

- Plans, schedules and monitors own work competently within limited deadlines and according to relevant standards and procedures.

- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

- Self-initiative and confidence, adaptable and able to cope with changing and evolving priorities.

- Ability to prioritize workload to achieve timescales under pressure.

- Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to issue resolution.

- Highly developed numeracy and IT skills (including in-depth knowledge of MS Office tools)

- Demonstrates effective application of knowledge.

Knowledge and Experience:

- Awareness of Project Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies is desirable.

- Previous Project Administration, Coordination or Support experience is essential ideally acting as a Project Analyst, Project Coordinator or Project Administrator.

- Related experience of working within a busy office, typically gained over a period of time, desirably within an IT environment

- Experience of working in a role where attention to detail is essential

- Has an appreciation of the wider business context.

- Takes action to develop own knowledge.
