  Job Summary The Director, Corporate Internal Communications, Digital Journey is a key role within the Corporate Communication Group that is responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies and plans that engage, align and inspire employees with Charles River's vision and business strategy and drives employees' understanding and engagement on Charles River's priorities and key initiatives. This position will work closely with senior leaders on communication strategies and activities to support our Digital Journey. This individual will develop business-critical and business-as-usual communications designed to educate, engage and inspire employees about the organization's Digital Journey. The ideal candidate will have a proven track-record of developing and nurturing a strategic approach to internal communications by creating and implementing plans that give employees line of sight to how their role contributes to their function's, and the company's success. They will have experience setting strategy, and be energized by trying new things and building an organization. He or she will also be agile, adaptable, highly collaborative, and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing and executing strategic employee communications and engagement plans designed to support Charles River's Digital Journey.

• Providing communications support to key senior executives, including communications around key initiatives, high level organization announcements, engagement activities, and other communications needs

• Partnering with key stakeholders to ensure alignment across the company and the timely and effective dissemination of messaging and materials to employees.

• Keeping communications fresh, creative, and engaging

• Regularly developing and exploring new ideas and strategies, such as social forums and platforms

• Ensuring "continuous improvement" by measuring communications impact and effectiveness Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in marketing, communications, human resources or related discipline.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

• Minimum of ten years relevant experience

• Excellent writing and marketing skills required.

• Effective communication skills for large, multinational audiences.

• Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, influencing, aligning, and active listening.

• Prior experience discussing communication needs with senior leaders and key stakeholders at a global level.

• Must be able to meet deadlines and work with tight deadlines and competing priorities.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
