Legal Councel

Job Profile Summary
Provide legal advice and services to the IQVIA CSMS business in Africa in one or more of the following areas: contract law,employment law and commercial law. May also coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel.
This position reports into the Legal Director, EMEA (CSMS).

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts. Ensure that contracts are in compliance
   with legal, regulatory and organization policies.
• Monitor the contract process to assure compliance with the organization's contractual guidelines, participate in precontract discussions, contract negotiations and contract changes as required on a case by case basis.
• Provide legal advice regarding employment law in various countries in Africa, in partnership with the IQVIA
  employment law team and with input from outside legal counsel where required and appropriate. Liaise with
  Human Resources and the IQVIA employment legal team on all issues of the law related to the organization's
  human capital. Monitor legal issues and implications regarding hiring and firing.
• In partnership with the IQVIA employment law team and, as appropriate, outside counsel, provide advice and
  direction on employment disputes related to the CSMS business in Africa
• Interact internally and externally with executive level management for the CSMS African business on issues
   requiring negotiation.
• Participate in the development and improvement of procedures to improve the timely completion of contract
  deliverables.
• Support Commercial staff in communicating with customers with regards to any legal issues; serve as Subject
   Matter Expert and contact for specific customers as needed.
• Attend and participate in Team meetings.
• Any other tasks related to the IQVIA Africa business as may be reasonably required

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience
Typically requires 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience in an international environment would be an advantage.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related industries would be an advantage.
