As an Account Development Rep, you will be responsible for securing & retaining business for PPD. To achieve this, you’ll conduct game-changing professional, consultative, and proactive inside sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at existing and new clinical sponsors.

Summarized Purpose:

To position PPD as the primary or preferred provider for outsourced activities across PPD's full suite of services. This includes assisting in sales activities in the areas of lead follow-up, Partners' dinners, and targeted marketing programs across PPD business units. Overall, positively impact harvest and hit rates of Business Development team.

Essential Functions:   

Deliver measurable contributions to Business Development by engaging new clients or contacts, securing client meetings, and harvesting RFPs. Responsible for managing & nurturing client list of approximately 75-150 accounts. Assist sales activities in the areas of lead follow up; internet sales opportunities and strategies, development and execution of targeted marketing programs for a Business Development team within all PPD Business Units.   Drive firm project/task commitments that will meet or exceed pipeline development support goals that will be established quarterly by the Business Development leadership.  Impact Business Development RFP harvest and hit rates through lead generation and pipeline development, Partnership Education programs, and marketing initiatives. Track and maintain accounts, cold calls, and client follow activity in the customer relationship management (CRM) database.  We are vital links between an idea for a new medicine and the people who need it. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification  Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 years). Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Years of experience are not to be used as the only determining factor in establishing the job class or making employment selection decisions.Highly prefer experience Labs related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure professional interactions with clients, both internal and external. Ability to collaborate and integrate with various internal PPD departments. Experience with lead generation is preferred, including ability to develop a territory management strategy, identify and develop sales leads within the territory, professionally present capabilities, and collaborate with others to hand-off the relationship internally. Possess computer skills related to sales automation systems, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and email. Excellent organization skills and time management skills in prioritizing daily activities and responsibilities with focus on target. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate information from and follow-up with diverse sources in order to develop relationships with internal and external clients. Ability to work within team environment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relating to client proposals, RFIs and BD processes. Working Environment:
