Job Summary We are seeking a Sr. Specialist, Business Development for our Insourcing Solutions business located in CA (San Diego/Bay Area). 

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Sr. Specialist, Business Development:

 

Summary: perform business development activities to expand North American customer base. Contribute to the strategies and activities of the business development function.  Partner with Operations and Human Resources to ensure customer satisfaction and contract success.     Generate leads, grow opportunities and develop new client partnerships; establish new business by understanding client’s needs, and developing strategies to win account. Maintain ownership of identified and specific business targets Manage and grow existing client accounts by becoming a trusted partner and problem-solver for the client; maintain frequent contact. Contribute to and execute on aggressive business development strategy. Attend trade shows, trade organization meetings, industry events; represent the Company in public forums. Coordinate with other IS departments to develop client quotes; determine pricing/margin strategies to maximize client value and Company revenues. Initiate customer onboarding; set and manage customer expectations. Provide general intelligence on key competitors. Provide regular updates to business management. Organize and host client visits and events. Collaborate with company-wide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction. Collaborate effectively with sales staff from other Charles River business units to bring potential opportunities to their attention and to identify and win multi-business-unit projects.  Use Salesforce and other internal software to track leads/opportunities, develop quotations, and onboard customers. Responsible for lead/opportunity management and accurate pipeline forecasting Lead client meetings/presentations with prepared value propositions. Participate in corporate teams to build relationships with key accounts.

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Sr. Specialist, Busniness Development position: Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in biological sciences, business management, or related discipline. Experience:  2-4 years technical experience in a drug discovery or animal vivarium management role OR in sales or related experience selling services directly to the scientific sector with direct interaction with mid-level and executive level decision makers. Experience at the Project/Site manager level for a biotech incubator or accelerator a plus.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.  <span style="font-family:"Book Antiqua",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This position allows for remote work at a home office during non-travel workdays and requires frequent (50-75%) domestic travel.
