0-19세 캐나다 어린이의 경우, 1997-2001년 사이에 새로운 암 사례의 수는 5년 동안 총 6,427명의 어린이에 대해 연간 평균 1,285명의 어린이였습니다. 아동 또는 청소년의 암 진단 및 치료에 대한 개인 및 가족의 반응에는 심리적, 사회문화적 및 생물학적 차원이 포함됩니다. 암에 걸린 어린이의 부모는 불안과 우울증을 포함한 심각한 정서적 고통을 경험할 수 있습니다. 부모는 자신의 불안과 괴로움을 줄이고 자녀의 고통을 완화하는 데 도움이 되는 지원과 기술이 필요합니다.
