Discover Impactful Work: The Network Architect has responsibility for supporting and crafting secure, high-performance, and operationally viable network solutions across our global network footprint.

A Day in the Life:
  • Provides continuous insight into critical areas of improvement and ways to use present technology more efficiently.
  • Applies deep experience and knowledge in identifying, assessing, and recommending solutions that leverage the latest in industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Develops and maintains network documentation and SOPs.
  • Verifies conformance of the design to specification requirements and the established baseline.
  • Identifies and quantifies risks and develops mitigation strategies.
  • Establishes reliability, maintainability and availability objectives and works with engineering teams to define solutions that meet these objectives.
  • Conducts system requirements reviews and preliminary and critical design reviews with engineering teams and contractors to assist in the progress of a system's design and implementation.

  • Ability to influence to acquire agreement and participation from various groups and partners without direct control
  • Ensure documentation and processes are well defined so that the engineered solutions are understood and repeatable.
  • Ensure solutions are well designed and built with considerations Day 2 operational efficiency.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with the business to understand customer difficulties.
  • Blend long-term strategic vision with immediate tactical needs of the business.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership capabilities

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer information technology, systems engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience is accepted
  • Certifications not required, but encouraged: CCNP, CCIE, or other Expert level networking certifications

Experience & Technology Skills
  • 5+ years of network architecture experience for a large-scale, preferably global, company
  • 5+ years demonstrable experience in managing a large-scale network
  • Expertise in automation strategies and tooling, including Python, APIs, Ansible/Teraform, StackStorm, etc.
  • Expertise integrating toolsets in multivendor environments to accomplish automated/orchestrated workflows.
  • Experience being responsible for the organization and implementation of large, sophisticated projects
  • Expert level knowledge of complex, multi-vendor BGP routing topologies
  • Expertise in WAN technologies including DMVPN, MPLS, Metro-E, SD-WAN Overlay
  • Expertise in Underlay/Overlay technologies including MP-BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN
  • Experience with AWS and Azure. In-depth knowledge of networking within and between cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP to enable packet-level analytical problem-solving
