Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Sample Management Technician 3 for our Discovery site located in Worcester, MA. 

Compile required documentation and package biological samples for shipping.  Responsible for managing and troubleshooting biological samples and study data within the Sample Management group.  

Some of the responsibilities for this position include: Serve as lead/primary technician on assigned studies to assure activities are performed in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols or Sponsor guidance documents and company policies/practices.   Read study protocols or sponsor guidance documents and extract pertinent information related to required action items. Assist management and coordinators with higher level tasks: i.e. training, scheduling, SOP/BOP revision, etc., as needed. Perform advanced troubleshooting of sample, study, and shipment related discrepancies Assist coordinators in investigating sponsor queries and reconciliation problems. Job Qualifications The following are minimum requirements related to the Sample Management Technician 3 position.

Education:  High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required. A.A./A.S. degree in a scientific field preferred.

Experience:  Minimum 4 years related experience in a life science laboratory.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Certification/Licensure: None 

Other:  Must be detail oriented and have general familiarity with lab procedures.  Good verbal and written communication skills required.  Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel software. Ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting timelines.
