The Team

The Real World Pricing team works in an agile manner using Scrum. It is mainly composed of other VBA developers and product owners. The team builds and maintains complex budgeting tools and maintains the databases used for management dashboards.

Background

The role involves the development of pricing algorithms and extensive VBA programming using Excel. The purpose will be to design, develop and maintain global pricing tools and their databases, working together with a cross-functional team. These pricing tools should drive efficiency through simplicity, scalability, reduced stakeholder involvement, transparency and ultimately impact client satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Read, program and debug VBA in Excel at an in-depth level
• Analyze and re-engineer complex Excel pricing tools to achieve project/ department/ division goals
• Identifying issues and proposing improvements within the pricing tools and beyond
• Create database, capturing project specific information from the pricing tool
• Test, QA and improve existing tools/ databases to increase efficiency
• UAT support
• Solve end user tickets related to developed tools
• Write technical documentation
• Ensure appropriate standards and procedures are adhered to during the programming process to provide quality
• Proactively works with product owner and cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of the business and its requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Excel based model development and Excel functions
• Extensive VBA programming experience (object orientated, user defined functions, write code from scratch and error handling)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Must be pro-active and hands-on
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and managers
• Fluent in English
• Would be an asset:
  • Scrum and/ or Jira knowledge
  • SQL server knowledge
  • A basic understanding of Python

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years or more relevant VBA programming experience. Knowledge of IQVIA offerings and pharmaceutical industry and/or finance would be an asset.
