Location/Division Specific Information

This role is based at our Loughborough, UK site, supporting our Laboratory Chemicals Division. These sites maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) certifications, manufacturing reagents and chemicals

Discover Impactful Work:

The Quality Assurance Officer will help maintain and grow the sites quality management system (QMS). They will ensure compliance to all governing standards and aid in addressing process concerns in manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and service. They will apply common industry tools and techniques for complaint investigation, CAPA, and continuous improvement.

Principle Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Assist with the maintenance of ISO 9001 registration
  • Administrate systems, data and records to support quality processes (management of change, CAPA, supplier management, deviation and non-conformances)
  • Support external customer audits and the internal audit program
  • Interface directly with customers and internal departments
  • Lead internal and external investigations, using data driven problem solving and root cause analysis, ensuring that subsequent actions are implemented and recorded
  • Maintain and build quality processes, policies, and procedures
  • Support external and internal customer requests for documentation
  • Communicate recommendations and decisions across the organization
  • Have the ability to perform independently and as part of a team
  • Understand and follow all appropriate site systems of work, and ensure that all work is conducted in line with Company policy requirements
  • Practical process improvement.

Keys to Success:

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or other scientific subject.

Experience
  • 2 years of experience in a quality role, working under an ISO 9001 Quality Management system
  • Proven problem-solving experience
  • Audit qualification and auditing experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, able to work collaboratively at all levels of the business to accomplish objectives
  • Diligent with excellent attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills: able to approach problems in a logical manner.
  • Good computer literacy in Microsoft Office, databases and other applications
  • Possesses strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks while meeting delivery dates
  • Implements new programs and processes with little direction
  • Experience with TrackWise and electronic document management systems preferred
