Job Summary
We are seeking an Animal Support Technician I for our Insourcing Solutions Department to provide continuing support services to our Charles River clients throughout the San Diego, CA area where you're assigned to various sites based upon need.

What you will do!
In this role, you will monitor animal health and welfare while performing daily observations and husbandry duties to include daily equipment checks; providing appropriate food and water; performing cage changing and cleaning; recording animal health concerns. You will also maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing. Assist with restraint, handling and manipulation of animals. Provide environmental enrichment appropriate to species. These experiences may involve a variety of lab animal species. Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals. Sanitize, maintain, and repair caging materials. Maintain cage wash facilities and routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves. Assist with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supplies. Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs and inventories. May be tasked to assist with breeding and weaning procedures to ensure appropriate production levels.
Job Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
A candidate that possesses a High School Diploma/GED is required (a B.S. in either animal science or similar discipline preferred); has a minimum six (6) months of animal care and handling in a laboratory or similar environment desired. Obtain AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level (ALAT) upon eligibility.
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - 22.00 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
