Location/Division: Waltham, MA or Pittsburgh, PA Laboratory Products Group DivisionHow will you make an impact?

As a finance leader, you will have direct exposure to the senior leadership team and businesses of the Laboratory Products Group (LPG). Reporting to the VP of Group Finance, the senior director will lead all aspects of the global FP&A, Commercial, and Pricing processes across the entire group. Additionally, you will provide robust business partnership support to the functional Group leadership team, act as the chief of staff for the finance team, and offer support to the Global VP Commercial for Laboratory Products.What will you do?

  • FP&A and Commercial leadership of a $3B Group

  • Lead all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes to include month-end close, reporting, planning/forecasting and analytics activities.

  • Identify, monitor, and articulate key operating metrics, and synthesize messaging the business performance in the Group

  • Lead all aspects of Group booking and revenue processes including the alignment across business units / commercial teams. Establish efficient and effective processes that drive quality and accuracy.

  • Lead all commercial elements of forecasting processes including strategic planning, annual operating plan tasks, and ongoing forecasts.

  • Establish use of predictive insights and modern forecasting methodologies to drive improved accuracy and predictability (e.g. rolling forecasts, scenario planning).

  • Lead the annual operating plan process (AOP) as well as play a key role in the annual strategic planning process (STRAP).

  • Strategic Business partner to HR, Operations, and other functional business leaders.

  • Develop outstanding finance staff and function. 

  • Liaise with Corporate FP&A and Systems teams to drive reporting integrity, accuracy, and process efficiency.

  • Oversight, implementation and organizational change management of appropriate systems, control/process standards, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Champion other ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned or as self-identified areas for improvement.

  • Lead the Five-Year Strategic Planning Process for the Group leadership team.

  • Prepare monthly Corporate leadership team forecast updates and weekly trending.

  • Lead the Pricing Operations team responsible for Annual Price roll, Pricing analytics and reporting, Quote processing, and actionable Pricing insights for the businesses and regions.

How will you get here?

Education

A degree in Finance or Accounting required, preferably an MBA, CPA or CMA certification

Experience

  • Proven experience as strong leader.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Capability to step back, assess overall business impact, and consolidate messaging effectively.

  • Extensive experience in leading Commercial finance and handling diverse global financial consolidations accurately and promptly.

  • Effective leadership skills with a proven record of adapting leadership styles to various situations and individuals.

  • History of excelling in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical competencies.

  • Proficient in leading priorities and workflow efficiently.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and adherence to rigor.

  • Determined with a proactive approach.

  • Expectation of 10-20% travel.
