Controlled production activities and compliance to cGMP rules, country regulations and internationally harmonized guidelines is essential for the suitability of the clients’ products and the license to operate for our site. In addition, due to the very high value of intermediates and products, production activities have to be performed in a highly controlled fashion.

How will you make an impact?

We are hiring a maintenance engineer to join our maintenance and calibration (M&C) team in the engineering department. The job holder will ensure the scheduling and support of Maintenance and Calibration objectives. Ownership and accountability for the assigned responsibilities will ensure a positive impact on the team and on the site. To do well in this role you should have significant technical knowledge and expertise in the fields calibration, maintenance, facilities, and utilities, delivering results on Safety, Quality, and Quantity. You will be a role model and leader for the technicians and the engineers.

What will you do?

The job holder’s main accountability is the maintained and calibrated compliant state of the installations, instruments, equipment, and facilities of the site. This includes among other calibration, preventative maintenance- and corrective maintenance schedule adherence, planning and oversight.

Main responsibilities, as assigned by the manager, include support Responsibilities, as assigned by the Manager, include support for: contractor management, interaction, and scheduling Preventative and corrective maintenance, participate in, or support of, the engineer on call team, if required: fit and finish scheduling and engineering projects, automation technology (OT) first line support.

The job holder is also responsible for achieving the M&C schedule, critical metrics, and reporting of deviations and issues; achieving assigned departmental goals in engineering, which is in line with the site and goals of the company; to ensure that activities in the maintenance and calibration department within the Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporate guidelines, systems, and requirements, EH&S requirements, within quality and regulatory requirements; for continuous improvement initiatives for increased efficiency and/or costs reduction; for budget support, cost consciousness and cost reduction in the department.

What do you have?

  • Minimal HBO level, or higher vocational education, BSc or equivalent level through education, and/or training, experience in engineering or equivalent.

  • Good command of English, both in oral and written communication.

  • Experience in the Biotech/ Biopharma/ cGMP environment, engineering or maintenance fields. Knowledge of calibration, facilities, automation, or biotechnology is helpful. Experience with a computerized maintenance system is helpful.

  • Social skills that are required include: Proactive demeanor, good socially adept, eye for detail, timeliness, reliable and integrity in all aspects.
