Location/Division Specific Information

The Chemical Analysis business provides a broad mix of analytical instruments and services to a diverse range of end-user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Life Sciences, Medical, Energy, Spectroscopy and Minerals and Mining. Its instruments are deployed globally in the field and on the line, in results-oriented environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. The Chemical Analysis business operates within a global footprint with more than 4,000 colleagues, delivering product solutions to customers that allow for confident, on-the-spot decision-making.

An opportunity exists for a results-oriented professional to be an important contributor within the CAD Operations Finance Cost Accounting Team. This position reports to the Cost Accounting Manager and will be responsible for cost accounting strategies, inventory management, and partnership with Operations for the Brno and Ecublens sites, offering the right candidate career development and growth.

A day in the Life:
  • Working in compliance and legislation and Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Provide financial support to the S&OP process
  • Perform monthly financial close activities including accuracy of manufacturing overhead expenses, overhead allocations, inventory, and cost-of-goods-sold. Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance for the inventory grouping of accounts.
  • Lead all aspects of the following areas within the P&L: Closing process, Standard Costing, Inventory, CAPEX, and Investments
  • Drive improvements and accountability for Gross Margin analysis. Lead continuous process improvement projects in the inventory control and E&O reserve requirement area.
  • Perform margin analysis to account for the impact of price, mix, and volume.
  • Lead the Monthly and Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR).
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed and other accounting duties as assigned by management.
  • Some travel may be required.

What we expect from you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related area or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years accounting experience, including a minimum of 1+ of cost accounting experience or equivalent work experience
  • Strong background in Finance, preferably in a complex manufacturing industry
  • Effective spoken and written communication skills to collaborate with various partners
  • Very good knowledge of Czech and English language
  • Strong team building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people even if geographically dispersed.
  • Highly analytical with strong business sense.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental cost accounting theories and concepts.
  • Financial acumen, including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation
  • Self-motivated, high level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
  • Ability to handle large set of data to create accurate reports
  • Continuous improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)
  • Excellent skills with Finance applications,Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
  • Business partnership experience
  • Experience with QAD is a plus
