Job Summary

This role is responsible for effectively developing, deploying, and successfully executing projects related to the operational improvement program for Charles River Laboratories Memphis. This position creates, coordinates and drives all aspects of identifying opportunities for operational improvement as well as for the deployment and collaborative execution of operational excellence strategies and programs at the Memphis site. This role is a key contributor to the development, implementation and management of programs and tasks to achieve operational improvements and excellence in the end-to-end site operations work streams. The role requires the individual to be primarily onsite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Executive Director to create a strategic vision and road map for the operational excellence program for the Memphis site.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in identifying, prioritizing and implementing changes at all levels to effect improvements in operational excellence.
  • Provide assistance in prioritization and management of programs and tasks and working with functions and/or cross-functional teams to support achievement and sustainability of improved operational excellence
  • Support and collaborate with functional leadership teams to develop a strategy and implement operations excellence programs and projects/tasks for their respective areas leading to improved function operational excellence.
  • Create, maintain, and deliver training, as required, to support the advancement of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and contribute toward identification of methods for regular effectiveness assessments and key performance indicator tracking to assist functional leadership teams toward success in implementing changes and gains in effectiveness.
  • Lead comprehensive analysis, options evaluation and other methodologies to support optimal efficiency gains, continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Utilize broad experience and understanding of operations and needs in evaluating challenges, identifying options and selecting programs and tasks to improve operations, prioritizing and implementing changes to achieve improved operations excellence.

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience across the multiple of the following areas: manufacturing operations, quality, project management and regulatory support preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or scientific discipline or work experience equivalent;
  • LEAN/six sigma experience preferred
  • Abitlity to motivate others creating a positive work environment and fostering effective departmental and inter-departmental collaboration, coaching and performance feedback.
  • Ability to clearly assign objectives, clear goal SMART goal setting and monitoring progress, managing resources and handling competing priorities.
  • Experienced in adapting to changing circumstances and competing priorities to assist in making recommendations and proper decisions related to evolving needs for operational excellence program for the site

The pay range for this position is $115,700 - $124,900.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
