Job Description

At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for our Total Transportation Management (TTM) division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal team members from our sales and client services organizations, as well as external customers. Your main responsibility will be driving growth through collaboration with commercial partners and key internal customers. By providing timely reports on opportunities, potential revenue, and forecast data, you will play a crucial role in positioning our service offering in the marketplace.

Here are the specific job responsibilities and requirements:

  • Develop and support the growth strategy value proposition of the transportation business.
  • Partner with and support sales strategy execution to expand customer base and develop new relationships within pharmaceutical supply chains.
  • Assist in the development and positioning of the Thermo Fisher Real Time Track and Trace platform.
  • Review performance against plan with the Regional Director, TTM and recommend alternative strategies and tactics where necessary.
  • Demonstrate initiative and intensity to meet or exceed the financial goals of the TTM service line.
  • Collaborate with Fisher BioServices, Patheon, and other Thermo Fisher Scientific sales forces to explain our unparalleled services to customers.
  • Support solution development and sales strategy that best meets the client’s needs.
  • Actively seek opportunities to grow the business.
  • Model excellent customer service (internal & external) in all functions and responsibilities.
  • Act as a customer advocate and identify resources and capabilities needed to ensure a leading market position for TTM.
  • Participate in business reviews with the commercial team and customers.

To be successful in this role, equivalent experience in business, operations, or a scientific field, along with 5+ years of related transportation business development experience, is acceptable. Excellent digital literacy and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required, and knowledge of salesforce.com is preferred. Some domestic and international travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.
