This position is for Japan Business Development role for the Labcorp Japan enterprise organization.Some (not all inclusive) key functions of this role include: support Business Development opportunities, establish product launch processes and activities, support to oversee organization governance (facilitating JEx meetings, compliance audits (internal and external), Japan Corporate Communication.

In close collaboration with the GM/President of LLJ/LCJ, the expectation is to ensure growth strategy set forth by HQ and the GM/President of LLJ/LCJ is executed for growing the Japan business.  The role will also involve working closely with the GM/President of LLJ/LCJ to ensure legal compliance of the two legal entities according to Japanese law.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of governance (JEx, etc.), Japan Corporate Communication, execution of corporate operational matters in close partnership with GM/President

  • Ensure legal compliance of entities in strong partnership with GM/President and legal/compliance teams

  • Establish product launch processes and activities including:  Collaborating with CDx and Dx BUs to uncover insights for developing marketing and branding strategies for existing and new products and services

  • In collaboration with GM/President, co-Lead development of marketing strategy (for Dx Japan and APAC) by working closely with managers (JEx members in Japan and other APAC/Global stakeholders) and CDx and Dx Bus to create effective plans focused on growing the audience for our products and services - Spearhead the execution of marketing campaigns, including control group segmentation, testing, forecasting, tracking, results reporting, competitive analyses, and recommendations

  • Propose and support execution of Business Development opportunities, as appropriate

  • Identify and leverage effective social media, paid media, paid search, and similar platforms / channels to drive brand recognition, awareness of Labcorp capabilities and brand differentiation, and to generate qualified leads. Master channel usage and proactively explore new channel options with local market proficiency

Education & Experience

Minimum Years of Experience Required: 10 years

Description of Minimum Experience Required:

  • Successful track record in a Chief of Staff (or equivalent) role or projects/experience

  • Successful track record in senior marketing role and campaign creation

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing

  • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets

  • Familiarity of corporate governance

Preferred Years of Experience Required: 15 years

Description of Preferred Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, business or communications in pharmaceutical or health care industry

  • Experience in Chief of Staff type role or function

  • Established roster of media and PR contacts

  • 3-5 years sales and marketing experienceProficiency with HTML, content management systems, and design software

Special Skills:

  • Strategic thinker – required

  • Excellent Communication Skills in both, Japanese and English – required

  • Strong Financial/business acumen with high data analytical skills - required

  • Project management skills

  • GM/President (LM) (weekly, if not more often)

  • Executive members in Labcorp in Japan (at least bi-monthly)

  • CDx and Dx BU members (Weekly)

  • External vendors for campaign/events/market research (on demand)
