Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptionally skilled Engineer II, Field Service to join our team in Chandler AZ.
Candidates must be located within commutable distance of site.
In this role provides you the opportunity to work along side with a dynamic team and be exposed to a variety of customer application areas. You will be performing on-site installation, servicing, and repair of powerful equipment and systems. As a Field Service Engineer, you will have the chance to guide customers about the operation and maintenance of the system, cultivate positive relationships with system users, and assist in the development of training materials and product quality improvement.
What Will You Do?Conduct on-site installation of quipment and ensure accurate working order through testing procedures
Perform scheduled planned maintenance visits
Provide repair support for customers and field service personnel
Cultivate and solidify positive working relationships
Complete technical training as required
Travel to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
Complete and submit field service reports
Perform preventive maintenance on assigned tools
Partner with colleagues for technical mentorship and problem-solving
Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance
Provide feedback to product quality teams
Update and correct various Thermo Fisher system documentation
Act as a subject guide and resource for training

How Will You Get There?
High School diploma with 4 years of relevant work experience, required. Bachelor's degree with 2 years experience, preferred.
5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems preferred
Detailed understanding and extensive experience repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems
Ability to effectively partner with customers
Strong communication skills with a professional working proficiency in English
Proven ability to solve sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level
Literate in MS DOS and Windows software environments
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Familiarity with UHV phenomenon and technology
Valid passport and willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required
Valid driver's license
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to secure entrance to US Government laboratories and facilities if required
