RWS Technology team are looking for experienced, innovative and highly motivated individuals who are keen to make their mark on how IQVIA efficiently manages its data assets. You will be an integral part of our Warsaw software engineering team and will play a crucial role in helping the team define the technology roadmap for the next generation data engineering platform. The role requires a commitment to project delivery and an eagerness understand the healthcare domain. Our platform helps solve complex business challenges pertaining to healthcare data such as mapping wide variety of healthcare drug and diagnosis data to standard coding frames. You will have the opportunity to be able to solve complex engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.

The Role   

We are looking for a motivated Quality Assurance Engineer with hands-on experience of implementing automated testing frameworks, promoting the adoption of testing procedures and practices as part of the software development lifecycle and is passionate about delivering high quality software in an agile setting. You will have the ability to influence and mentor the junior members of the team and will take initiatives to bring improvements to the software delivery process. This role requires a considerable focus on understanding the data we deal with as an organization and you would be expected to develop a better understanding of our data through engagement with business stakeholders, working closely with the software engineers to understand the context of the systems being developed and participation in solution design. The role will also require an understanding of the role of DevOps in terms of delivery and quality assurance.

The Team

The Systems Engineering team is one of the fastest growing groups within Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWS) Technology division. We are enthusiastic about Agile software development, are one of the strongest advocates for DevOps and Test-Driven Development (TDD) in the group and believe strongly in enabling individuals to be their best by allowing them to be independent and be part of a self-organizing team.

The team deals with a wide variety of patient-level health care data, which is used by RWAS Technology to solve complex healthcare problems for our clients ranging from supporting retrospective clinical studies to disease progression projections.

A typical day might include:

  • Having ownership of and participating in implementation of end-to-end system testing
  • Working closely with Product Owners and development teams to understand business & system requirements and ensuring appropriate level of test coverage is achieved at the end of each sprint
  • Ensuring the test plans and test cases reflect the business requirements as defined by Product Owners and the tests written by the development team is of high quality
  • Working closely with development teams, testers, tech leads, developers and Product Owners to define the automated testing components that will be used to validate requirements against developed software
  • Creation of master test plans, testing milestones, dealing with all of the businesses stakeholders, testing resourcing planning and allocation and also environment management.
  • Defining the overall project test approach covering all required test phases (Functional and Non-Functional) in line with the RWAS Systems’ test strategy and including those undertaken by other teams and external parties
  • Leading the System Test, Systems Integration Test and Regression test phases for IT change portfolio programmes and projects.
  • Participating in individual scrums on a regular basis to help build and execute automated testing on both web front end and back end systems.
  • Creating automated tests using Java/Selenium; Robot Framework
  • Mentoring and coaching junior members of the Quality Assurance team, providing guidance on their day-to-day assignments.

Our ideal candidate:

  • At least 3 years working as a Test Manager, Test Lead, or Senior QA Engineer
  • Demonstrable experience in software testing including the identification of test cases, production of test scripts and test execution
  • Demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration (CI) environment and a variety of testing tools such as Jenkins/Hudson, TeamCity, as well as automation frameworks like Robot Framework, Specflow, Jbehave, Geb, Spock, Junit4, TestNG, Nunit
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Open Source Automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber
  • Experience of working with an open source or commercial version control systems like GIT, Mercurial, CVS, SVN, Clear Case
  • Strong Python and Robot Framework experience or equivalent
  • Experience of using different DB testing tools like Fitnesse and DBFit
  • Must have knowledge and understand fundamental concepts of Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, User Acceptance Testing
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, CI, and design patterns.
