Job Description

Summary

The Director, Product Management of Nominal Mass portfolio is accountable for the global strategic direction and vitality of new and existing products for entire Nominal Mass product portfolio for the LSMS business within CMD division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product Revenue and Vitality Metrics
    • Expert understanding and control of profitability, margins, and lifecycle.
    • Accountable for product revenue and vitality across Nominal Mass portfolio.
    • Motivates changes based on strategic shifts and internal and external factors in conjunction with partners.
  • Portfolio Roadmap and STRAP Planning
    • Accountable for roadmap and strategy for Nominal Mass portfolio.
    • Influences STRAP process in partnership with vertical marketing and business leaders.
    • Partners with business and functional authorities to drive the OEM strategy and opportunities within the business unit.
    • Coordinates and advises on strategic marketing plans to achieve objectives for products and services.
  • Product Life Cycle Management
    • Defines end to end product lifecycle requirements for business.
    • Accountable for all tasks for entire product range within Nominal Mass portfolio, including product quality and performance, data integrity, end of life determination and process. 
    • Influences related STRAP initiatives.
  • R&D Roadmap and New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
    • Influences strategy based on global market and competitive dynamics and regional specific variations.
    • Ensures alignment with business strategy and goals as defined by the business leadership team.
    • Partners with R&D for oversight of NPDI processes within Nominal Mass portfolio, including product roadmap, business plans and market requirements, ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines.
    • Contributes to and ensures compliance with established processes and guidelines.
    • Drives resolution of escalations.
  • Product Validation
    • Is responsible for market development analysis including customer requirements, trends and future needs for the Nominal Mass portfolio.
    • Reviews and improves standards, specifications, and requirements for test and validation.
    • Drives process improvement tied to overall strategy.
  • Strategic Pricing
    • Accountable for the pricing strategy for Nominal Mass portfolio.
    • Recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the strongest possible long-term market share.
  • Support of Product and Training
    • Drives product support strategy including service and product training (how to win, product positioning, business goals).
    • Oversight for development of effective customer feedback loops, understands implications and translates feedback into better features and products.
  • People Management
    • Defines goals in terms of achievement of the organization's business goals.
    • Monitors and leads development of team and related performance issues. 
    • Ensures successors identified for critical roles.
    • Drives action planning and initiatives across team incorporating Employee Involvement Survey or other feedback.
    • Role models 4-I values and creates an environment that encourages others to demonstrate the 4-I values.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific or business field and 10-12 years related experience required.
  • Master’s degree in scientific field preferred or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience includes:
    • 7+ years in a Product Management role
    • 5+ years in related industry or technical role
    • 5+ years in a cross functional/team environment
    • 5+ years in a people manager role preferred

  • Accountable for the global strategic direction and vitality of new and existing products for entire Nominal Mass portfolio.
  • Oversees development and management of new and existing products across product lifecycle.
  • Participates with other senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
  • Sets or heavily influences strategic planning process.
  • Recommends appropriate team structure and figures out how objectives will be met through teams/subordinates.
  • Lead people managers.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,100.00–$275,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
