Who we are

Located in Brisbane, Australia. There are numerous opportunities at a fast growing site accredited by regulatory bodies for commercial production of Biologics. The Media and Buffer (MBP) team is a fundamental unit within the Operations department at the Brisbane Facility. We manufacture using single use technology specialised to meet cGMP standards. We are part of a network of Patheon’s drug substance manufacturing sites which includes St. Louis, USA, Groningen, Netherland. Join an engaged and dynamic team.

A Lead Formulation Technician is a well respected and key role within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Primary responsibilities are as follows:

Attributes which are integral to our success
  • Follow the company 4I's of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation & Involvement.
  • Reporting on safety issues, ensuring all required PPE is worn by Technicians.
  • Ensure housekeeping & 5S standards are maintained within the manufacturing facility.
  • Complete and maintain all training to required standard.

Proficiencies are of the highest standards
  • Contribute to the production requirements outlined by the site master production schedule.
  • Dispense and formulate solutions in accordance with production protocols.
  • Model excellent cGMP behaviour, identifying and reporting any areas of concerns to Team leadership.
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance on issues impacting production.
  • PPI, drive continuous improvement through gemba, JDI, RCCM, mentor, effectivity checks.
  • Able to present data and line information to diverse groups of staff.
  • Accurate recording of information in batch records and any relevant logs.
  • Help to build a positive working environment where opinions and feedback is recognised.
  • Ensure the processes are followed and accurate.
  • May be required to perform other tasks as they are needed.
  • Desire to lead and expand within this role and potentially beyond.
