Position purpose:

The planner ensures business processes are optimally configured and documented in ERP (SAP S4) system and databases. They are the key interface of SAP users on system support, training and documentation.

The Planner contributes to and/or lead operational excellence projects relevant to business processes information systems and documentation, including system functionalities and works with wider plant systems.

The Planner handles and communicates the short/long term planning, The Planner secures that the products can be manufactured according to the planning and are delivered on time and in full to the customer. The Planner focus on management of internally and externally procured raw materials in accordance with site manufacturing and inventory strategy. The planner is responsible for optimizing site raw material inventory while maintaining high rates of availability to support production. Additional responsibilities include MRP planning of assigned categories of Make-To-Stock (MTS) and Make-To-Order (MTO) consumable life sciences products as determined by evolving business needs.

Your Responsibilities:
  • The planner calculates and communicates forecast reliability to business management.
  • Production needs are allocated to process orders and are released.
  • Production master data in the ERP such as BOMs, master recipes, production versions, resources and planning attributes are created and maintained in the material master.
  • Safety stocks are adequately handled to ensure back order goals are met through judicious use of inventory and identify anomalies in demand or supply that require timely updating of safety stock targets to insure uninterrupted supply.
  • Work orders are entered based on optimal batch size, delivery dates, raw material availability and production capacity, based on standard lead time.
  • SAP application requirements are resolved including current needs, anticipate future needs and provide solutions to the business by integrating various business operations into one platform. This includes analyzing company’s current practices in relevant areas, such as production, inventory and warehouse management, cost control, supply chain, etc.
  • The planner coordinates order intake of customer orders in ERP system, according to agreed quantities and price.
  • Scheduling changes are aligned and prioritized through various systems (ERP, APS) and involved departments.
  • Inventory Optimization plans are achieved and maintained to drive optimal Inventory levels and minimizing Excess & Obsolete inventory risk.
  • Specified MTS/MTO Back Order objectives are defined and adhered to, driving optimal order fulfillment levels.
  • The planner designs and implements SAP solutions with the support of Business Operations Support / Business Technology team. This might include adding upgrades, installing new systems or creating custom programs.
  • Software validation documentation is created and reviewed at business level like user requirements specifications, risk assessments or test cases.
  • User acceptance testing is performed. Structures and tools are established for the management of BT controlled business processes and the data maintenance involved. End-user support and training is planned and performed.

Your Qualifications:
  • Min. 5 years of professional experience in the relevant fields.
  • Depending on the business field a business administration background (Purchasing, Planning, Finance, Sales&Distribution) or rather a technical / natural scientific background (manufacturing execution process, logistics/material flows, QM) are of advantage.
  • Experience with SAP modules MM, PPPI, IM/EWM required
  • Previous experience in analyzing business operations and requirements required
  • Proficient at translating business processes into system functionalities required
  • Knowledge of data modeling and computerized systems validation methodology desired.
  • Writing specifications, risk assessments and test cases on business level and preparing training materials required.
