An exciting opportunity to join the R&D team! We are actively looking for a highly skilled Application Scientist to join our Life Science Mass Spectrometry group. The successful candidate will be passionate, hardworking individual who will play a substantial role in supporting product improvements and new product development. The primary role is to collaborate with R&D Scientists to address specific research questions and objectives in areas such as proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, drug discovery, environmental and food safety.

In this role, you'll have the chance to:
  • Thoughtfully design experiments, analyze data, and provide invaluable technical expertise in specific areas of application.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to extract meaningful insights and generate actionable recommendations for internal research projects.
  • Work in cross-functional teams, including product management, software development, and test teams, to validate and troubleshoot our mass spectrometry methods and instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in industry trends, and scientific literature, and share your knowledge to support our continuous improvement efforts.
  • Showcase technical expertise by delivering engaging presentations, leading training sessions, and facilitating workshops for our internal teams, sharing standard processes and insights gained from application development and research.

To be a great fit for this role, we'd love it if you:
  • Exhibit understanding of principles of operation and hands on experience of different mass spectrometry platforms, such as QQQ, QTRAP, and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
  • Showcase expertise in experimental design, method development, and optimizing LC/MS applications.
  • Are proficient in using mass spectrometry software and data analysis tools to interpret and draw insights from data.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Have a genuine curiosity about different areas MS-based applications and are eager to expand your skill set.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, able to interact with colleagues and peers in a friendly and professional manner.

Education:
  • Must have a MS or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, with a focus on mass spectrometry applications in life sciences.

Experience:
  • Must have 4+ years of hands-on experience in various mass spectrometry techniques, including sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis
  • Ability to use software tools like R, MATLAB, or scripting language like Python for data analysis.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $123,800.00–$185,675.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
