Job Summary
We are looking for Research Assistant to join our In Vivo unit at our Kuopio office. The position is fixed term (until end of September 2024) and hourly paid, and the office is in Kuopio.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- performing practical laboratory work
- participates in the daily care and maintenance of animals
- perform research techniques on laboratory animals in models of CNS disease, such as dosing, behavioral testing, collection and processing of tissue samples
- participates in the preparation of measurements and in the collection and documentation of data according to the need for the experiment
- participates in the unit's other support functions and assists in other tasks as needed
Job Qualifications
- suitable qualifications acquired through vocational training (e.g., laboratory technician, bio analyst, veterinary technician, animal care technician, biomedicine student etc.)
- possibility to work in animal facility
- effective teamwork and active communication essential
- basic computer skills, e.g., Microsoft Office software
- experience in laboratory animal work and research technical tasks, such as laboratory animal care, dosing, or behavioral testing are considered as an advantage
- good oral and written English skills are considered an advantage
