<h2>Job Overview:</h2><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Laboratory Corporation of America® Holdings, an S&P 500 company, is currently seeking a Segment Accounting Manager in various locations. This individual will accomplish the following:</span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>                                                                 </strong></span></p><ul><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Review and approve monthly business unit reporting packages and analysis prepared by accountants, refining explanations with additional business context for material variance explanations as needed</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Oversee business unit reporting package distributions to the appropriate customers, facilitating Q&A sessions on monthly results with different stakeholders</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations that have been identified as complex, material, or high risk </span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Complete complex ad hoc analyses on Segment and BU financials as requested by Corporate Controllership, FP&A or Segment Controllership</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare and review new policies, procedures, and SLAs and provide oversight to the implementation of policies in the IAS organization</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Oversee close of acquisitions between deal completion and stabilization within the IAS organization. Ensure acquisition is adhering to Corporate policies, leveraging systems and applications where possible, and supporting training for the transactions to be absorbed within IAS.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide business knowledge and supporting documentation around account reconciliations</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="color: black;">Manage the timely and accurate completion of assigned close activities and resolve issues</span></span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Observe the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and controls implemented to minimize risk and take corrective action if necessary</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black;">Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the general accounting function</span></li></ul><h2>Education/Qualifications:</h2><ul><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #333333;">Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent number of years of experience </span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #333333;">Preferred – CPA and advanced accounting degree</span></li></ul><h2>Experience:</h2><ul><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">5 + years of business experience within Accounting with increasing responsibility</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">3-5 years of supervisory experience </span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Professional certification (CPA) and advanced Accounting degree preferred</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate direct and indirect reports</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Adhere to a pro-active approach, with the ability to problem solve, and interact professionally with internal and external clients in order to meet everyone’s needs in an effective and timely manner</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficient in Excel and Word (intermediate level)</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Previous experience with ERP system (PeopleSoft preferred)</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Problem solving skills</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working with a global team</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Thorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAP principles and internal control environments</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong verbal and written communication skills</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working with large amounts of data</span></li></ul>
