As a Sales Training Specialist, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and deliver effective sales training programs to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of the sales team. You will work closely with sales leadership, regional marketing and subject matter experts to identify training needs, develop training materials, and deliver engaging and interactive training sessions.

Your responsibilities may include:

Training needs analysis: Assessing the training needs of the sales team through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations. This involves identifying skill gaps and areas for improvement.

Developing training programs: Designing and developing comprehensive sales training programs that align with organizational goals and sales objectives. This includes creating training materials, presentations, and interactive activities.

Delivering training sessions: Facilitating engaging and interactive training sessions for sales representatives and managers. This may involve conducting in-person workshops, virtual training sessions, or utilizing e-learning platforms.

Sales process and product training: Providing training on the sales process, including prospecting, qualifying leads, presenting solutions, objection handling, and closing techniques. Additionally, you will train the sales team on product knowledge, features, and benefits.

Sales skills development: Coaching and mentoring sales representatives to improve their selling skills, such as effective communication, negotiation, relationship building, and consultative selling.

Sales tools and technology training: Training the sales team on the effective use of sales tools, CRM systems, and other technology platforms to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Sales performance evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations and feedback mechanisms. This involves analyzing sales metrics and conducting follow-up sessions to reinforce learning and address any performance gaps.

Continuous improvement: Staying updated with industry trends, sales methodologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the effectiveness of sales training programs. You will make recommendations for improvements and implement new training initiatives as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, training and development, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications may be preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Training Specialist or in a similar role, preferably within a sales or training environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes, selling techniques, and sales methodologies.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Proficiency in instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with sales team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to assess training needs and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with sales tools, CRM systems, and e-learning platforms.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and deliver training programs in a dynamic environment.
